Here is a little more information about me, my vision and how I can simultaneously help accomplish your company's mission. In short, this is who I am and who I hope to be through working at your company.
More About Me and My Goals
As a 24-year-old who has cultivated a dreamers attitude I must openly admit that my vision is to explore the white spaces encompassing the modern media. For example, the decline of fan engagement in once renowned award shows exhibits a lost connection between artists and actors and their audiences. I have a few ideas how we can rekindle that connection.
If you were to ask me why I am to pursuing a career in entertainment journalism, it is the simple fact that I am obsessed with stories and storytellers. Movies, music and contemporary art forms of all kinds can allow a refuge from reality. Storytelling within art is also a vessel to reflect on something as macro as the global social climate or as personal as coping with the angst of being a mortal human being. *hey siri... play Kid Cudi on shuffle
I believe that the most common misconception about the public is that they are oblivious and idiotic and do not know the difference between opinion and objectivity (entertainment news especially). Though there is a gullible group in every population, the majority of people today have a pretty decent nonsense barometer, eventually snuffing out anything that reeks of inauthenticity.
I hope to champion an approach of investigative journalism to the entertainment space. I plan to contribute to viewers' and subscribers' discovery of critical thinking through the art of covering modern storytelling. I would love to interview the entertainment industry's role players, large and small, and not only ask them questions but participate in a well informed dialogue that is both amusing and informative for the viewer.
I assure you my passion for this industry and what it could be is unparalleled. I have the skills and the temperament to cultivate those skills as I put in my hours.
